Your audio stays on your own network and the apps need no account. This page explains the little this website and our support chat do store.
Last updated: 19 October 2026
The short version: The OwnMic apps stream your microphone audio straight from your phone to your PC over your own Wi-Fi. It never passes through us or the internet, and the apps need no account. This website counts visits and downloads, and our support chat keeps the name and messages you send us so we can reply. We don't show ads, we don't use third-party trackers, and we never sell your data.
OwnMic is developed and operated by [YOUR NAME], an independent developer. "OwnMic", "we" and "us" in this policy mean the developer of the OwnMic apps and this website. This policy covers the OwnMic Windows app, the OwnMic Android app, this website and our support chat.
To make pairing convenient, the apps keep a small amount of information locally on your device only:
This data stays on your device and can be cleared at any time by using "Forget device" or by uninstalling the app.
OwnMic needs the microphone permission (to capture your voice) and local network access (to discover your PC and stream audio over Wi-Fi or a hotspot). These are used only for the app's core function while you are connected.
If you message us through the chat button, we store on our server what you give us: the name you enter, the platform you choose (Windows or Android), your messages, and any photos or videos you send. We use them only to help you. Your browser also remembers your name and a chat ID in its local storage, so the conversation is still there when you come back. While you're connected, our server briefly uses your IP address to stop spam; it isn't saved with your chat.
OwnMic is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect any personal information from them.
If we make meaningful changes, we'll update this page and the "last updated" date above.
